The markets closed with substantial gains this week and barring consumer durables, all sectoral indices closed positive. The Sensex was up 4.8% and Nifty gained 4.5% over the week. The CNX Midcap index was up 3.6%, BSE Smallcap gained 2.2% while the Bank Nifty closed with 8% gain. The BSE Consumer Durables lost 2.1%, BSE Realty was up 6.5% and BSE Metal closed with 4% gain over the week. The BSE Power was up 6.3% and BSE Auto gained 5.8% over the week. The top Nifty gainers during the week were Reliance Infra, L&T,JP Associates and IDFC while the biggest losers included Dr Reddy's and Ranbaxy.
